Randomology Games!

One of the projects I’ve been working on is a gaming supplement for 4th Edition D&D. It features alternate rules for using firearms in a campaign, new magic items, feats, equipment, and original artwork. I’ll include text and image samples here, previews, and see if I can offer a discount price for my readers. Randomology Games will also be selling just the artwork, or you can buy the bundle for a discount price.

It’s been fun, but I’d like your help. I’m setting up the merchant account and have a logo design. I like it, but I’d like to tweak it. At the same time, I’ve got no name for the supplement. It’s fantasy with revolvers, flintlocks, blunderbusses, cannons, and elves going John Woo. I was going to go with Dungeons and Dragoons, but I’m sure Wizards would veto that one QUICK. I’m also leaning towards Elves with Shotguns, but I’m not married to it.

Anyway, I’d love some feedback on the logo for Randomology Games and any suggestions on possible titles. Here’s the logo. Thoughts?

  1. I think it looks good. Another thing you could try would be some steam punk styled designs? If you want to go that route, that is. And then maybe having it look like it’s engraved in a wooden plank or the hilt of a gun would look nice.

You could also make something where the first letters are about twice the size of the rest of word, to make it more recognizable.

  2. Not bad, but feels weak as a logo… Too complex, and not distinctive enough if small or lower res… Let me think about it a bit and I’ll see if I can be more helpful than that- I don’t like leaving just the negative half of my thoughts rather than being more helpful, so I’ll see what I can do to remedy that!:)

    1. Actually, I’d look at some kind of abstraction of the eye you’re using in the header and in your Twitter user icon – it’s relatively distinct, and I think maybe that coupled with the RG letters or something like that might do very well for you. It’s consistent, cleaner and can still have text with it if the situation makes sense.
